Our definition of what a cool job is may not be as cool as we think. Assuming we\'ve
agreed that a cool job is basically a job where you just sit and stare at your desk
all day and still get paid tons, well, all of this doesn\'t sound so good because
boring jobs can actually kill us. Pretty ironic for a job we also call our
livelihood.

If you want a job where you can be sure to happily grow old, then amusement parks is
the answer. This is what a study in Psychosomatic Medicine has found out. Not only
does amusement factor in the equation for longer life, but the sense of spontaneity,
creativity, and variety in an amusement park\'s work setting are beneficial to the
well-being of its employees as well.

Stress in our jobs isn\'t necessarily bad. As a matter of fact, according to the
study, people are better off in high-demand, high-pressure, and deadline-oriented
jobs, than in jobs requiring redundant, boring tasks. This is because high-demand
jobs let workers cope, strategize, and engage in the future. This in turn
translates to longer lives.

The bad kind of stress happens when workers have little control and decision over
the daily routine of their jobs, when they feel there\'s unequal power going on, and
there are no career opportunities offered to them. Job stress like these can lead
to heart diseases and other health problems. In situations like this, resigning
isn\'t always the best answer. If you don\'t have an amusing job, find ways for it to
amuse you, and learn to love it. Also try voicing out your concerns and strike a
compromise with your boss about working conditions too. That\'s what a cool job is
all about: taking charge of things.
